Prince, who is sporting a retro Afro these days, recently announced that acclaimed singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe will be the supporting act for his Sept. 26, 2012 "Welcome 2 Chicago" show at the United Center.

The show follows two previously announced dates taking place Sept. 24 and Sept 25 also at the United Center and will mark Prince first return to the area since 2004.

The concerts are all in support of Rebuild the Dream an organization founded by Van Jones and which mobilizes hundreds of thousands of everyday people—from seniors to students, moms, dads, brothers and sisters—who come together to build strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up.

The Sept. 26 show with opener Janelle Monáe is currently on sale at Additional tickets for the Sept. 24 show have been released and are currently on sale at along with tickets for the Sept. 25 show.

On site at the United Center, Prince and Rebuild the Dream will offer opportunities to learn about, support, and take part in rebuilding vibrant and sustainable communities. Socially-conscious businesses, tech start-ups, entrepreneurs, and other innovators will offer specific tools that individuals and communities can use to improve their economic situation in the short- as well as long-term.
