CNN Original Series "Decades in Sports" from executive producers Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Mark Herzog explores the cultural and political milestones that transformed sports and helped shape America.

The newest installment in the Emmy Award-nominated "Decades" franchise premieres with two episodes on Aug. 2 starting at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). The six-episode series will air weekly on Sundays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) and stream the next day on the CNN app or at CNN.com/watch.

Across six episodes, "Decades in Sports" explores the defining moments, athletes and cultural shifts that shaped sports over the past six decades, from the television revolution and Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, to the transformative social and political changes of the 1970s, to the impact of social media on today's biggest sports stars. Along the way, each decade reveals the unforgettable athletes, championship moments and cultural milestones that transformed sports, and America.

The series features interviews with legendary broadcasters Bob Costas, Al Michaels and Andrea Kremer, football legends Lynn Swann and Drew Pearson, basketball Hall of Famer Bill Bradley, Olympic gold medalist and WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, ESPN analysts Jessica Mendoza and Malika Andrews, journalists/authors Dave Kindred, Joe Posnanski, Michael MacCambridge, Bomani Jones and John Heilemann, marathon pioneer Kathrine Switzer, and additional athletes, coaches, journalists, historians and legendary sports broadcasters.

"Decades in Sports" is a continuation of CNN Original Series' storied partnership with PlayTone which includes over eight seasons and over 70 hours of television, including "The Sixties," "1968: The Year That Changed America," "The Seventies," "The Eighties," "The Nineties," "The 2000s," "The 2010s," "The Movies" and "Tis the Season: Holidays on Film."

The series will stream live for pay TV subscribers via CNN.com, CNN connected TV and mobile apps on Aug. 2. It will also be available on demand beginning Aug. 3 to CNN's streaming subscribers via CNN.com and CNN connected TV and mobile apps.

LIFETIME RETEAMS WITH ANGIE HARMON FOR "BURIED IN BARSTOW"

Building on the success from the first installment of "Buried in Barstow," Lifetime continues its partnership with award-winning actress Angie Harmon ("Rizzoli & Isles") who will executive produce and star in two news films to continue the story of former assassin Hazel King.

Kristoffer Polaha
("Jurassic World: Dominion") returns as Elliot, the former doctor determined to reclaim the career he lost while building a new life with Hazel and Lauren Ashley Richards ("Venom") reprises her role as Hazel's daughter Joy.

Megan Follows (Reign) joins the cast as Zadie, the enigmatic matriarch of a powerful construction family whose interests in Barstow soon intersect with Hazel's in increasingly dangerous ways. Harmon's daughter, Finley Sehorn, will make her acting debut in the films, portraying a young Hazel.

As part of her previously announced production deal with Lifetime/A+E Global Media, Harmon will also direct a new Ripped from the Headlines movie for the network. All three projects will debut on Lifetime in 2027.

The "Buried in Barstow" wheelhouse of movies follow former assassin Hazel King (Angie Harmon) as she tries to build a quiet life for herself and her daughter but her dark past keeps coming back to haunt her. As new threats and unexpected connections emerge, Hazel must navigate loyalty, motherhood, and the possibility of redemption, while confronting who she used to be.

"Buried in Barstow: Blood for Blood" (w.t.) and "Buried in Barstow: The Reckoning" (w.t.) are produced for Lifetime by Nomadic Pictures and executive produced by Angie Harmon, Michael Rosenberg, Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev, Laura Notarianni and Monica Castellanos. Both films will be directed by Alexandra La Roche.
